Repovesi National Park
Repovesi National Park and the Aarnikotka Forest Nature Reserve are about half an hour’s drive from Verla. Repovesi has several different trails and they can be easily combined with a visit to Verla.
Mustila Arboretum
Mustila Arboretum located in Elimäki is the oldest and largest arboretum in Finland. Since 1902, the arboretum founded by State Councillor A. F. Tigerstedt has been home to test plantations for domestic and foreign tree species in extensive research woods and a unique forest garden. Mustila is particularly well-known for its exotic coniferous woods and hundreds of rhododendrons and azaleas, which bloom in June. The arboretum also sells cold-resistant tree and bush seeds and seedlings.
Vuohijärvi Nature and Culture House
Just 12 kilometres from Verla, you can explore the Vuohijärvi Nature and Culture House art exhibition and the blossoming love garden in the summer. The Kaakkuri café, shop and gallery are open to visitors.
